How to Read Your First Luminate Bill

We say what we say we charge – no gotchas! So why is your first Luminate bill higher than your quoted monthly fee? The first bill often includes one-time set-up fees, such as installation and costs for pro-rated services. Below we’ll break down each line item on your first Luminate Broadband bill to help you navigate the initial costs.

Installation Fees

Installation fees will appear on your first Luminate bill under ‘Other Charges and Credits.’  You agree upon an installation fee when you sign your contract, so there should be no surprises here.

Prorated Service Costs

Let’s say you install your Luminate lightning-fast fiber broadband on the 15th of the month. Our billing cycle starts on the 1st of each month and ends on the last day of each month, so in this case, your first bill would include costs from the 15 days used during the previous billing cycle. Prorated service costs will appear under ‘Partial Month Charges’ and will only appear on your first and last bills when applicable.

Extra Fees Associated with VoIP

If you signed up for a Luminate Broadband package that includes VoIP, we are legally obligated to charge state and federal taxes and a 911 access fee on top of the monthly fee. These are standard fees you would have to pay any phone service provider.

Future Bills

Now that all of those fun getting-to-know-you fees are taken care of, you’ll be paying the price that is quoted for your internet plan. All of your future bills should reflect this monthly fee. So, if you’re signed up for the Yampa Streaming plan, you will receive a bill for $70.00 each month (unless you also signed up for VoIP, in which case those monthly fees and legally-required taxes will be included as well).

When is Your Luminate Payment Due?

Our billing cycles are in two-week periods, so Luminate Broadband bills are sent out on the 1st of each month and must be paid by the 14th of the month.
