Tammy Villard – owner of Moffat Mercantile is committed to community. Born and raised in Craig, she is invested in the partnerships and friendships formed over the years. After realizing it was time to start her own business, Tammy saw a gap in the availability of unique gifts in Craig. On a wing and a prayer, she bought the building at 529 Yampa and began her journey that would change her life and that of her family forever.
Now, exactly three years later, Moffat Mercantile is a thriving business dedicated to sourcing local wares and American Made products. Tammy’s vision to bring something vibrant and special to her hometown has also provided a platform for local artisans to showcase their talents. “Through this venture, I have been able to develop lifelong friendships and valuable partnerships which have helped other small businesses succeed.”
Not only is Tammy a valuable community partner, but she also sits on the board of the Moffat County Fair and the Craig Rotary Club. She volunteers for the Community Soup Kitchen, among many others and in 2022 she donated 20 gift baskets to help local organizations raise money. It is with a pure heart and generous nature that Tammy is driven to invest in her beloved community. “The people are the best thing about Craig. I am proud of what we are doing here and cherish the days we make a positive impact.”
